Welcome to the united parish of Aldborough, Boroughbridge, Dunsforth, Minskip and Roecliffe.
We’re a very welcoming Church community based in North Yorkshire. The historic town of Boroughbridge lies at the geographical centre of the five communities, and is also where the Vicarage is located. From here the other four communities radiate, with Dunsforth being the furthest, at about three miles away.
We have a wide variety of services including – Communion, All-Age Worship, and Choral Evensong. We have a regular choir and bell ringers, and welcome new members for these groups. Services are usually on Sundays at our Churches with a midweek Wednesday Communion in Boroughbridge, with morning prayer said in our villages during the week. You can also find out about our special services on these pages and in the magazine which can be downloaded from this page.
Events running through the year that involve our Churches include Messy Church events, an Annual Art exhibition, the Northern Aldborough Festival, a Christmas Fayre, Minskip Midsummer Fete, Dunsforth Country Fair, Craft and Chatter, and regular Coffee Mornings at St James’ Church (usually on the first Saturday of the month)
The work of the Churches extend well beyond their buildings with our Eucharist group providing Communion in the home and various care homes in the town and our Vicar and Reader doing home and hospital visiting. Our members are involved in voluntary work throughout the town and villages including Boroughbridge Community Care. and we have a close relationship with our Church primary school in Roecliffe.
See the Church Services and Events pages for details of what’s on. For most enquiries, including weddings and baptisms, please use our contact form. Other contacts, including churchwardens for the individual churches are shown on the Who’s Who page.
