Death of HM Queen Elizabeth II

Our Churches stand with our nation in mourning the death of our most gracious monarch Queen Elizabeth, praying for our new King and his family.

St James and St Andrews churches will be open every day from Friday 9th September and a book of condolences will be available for you to contribute to. St Mary’s Church in Roecliffe will also be open for private prayers. We will keep you informed of when our other village churches will be open.

May her majesty rest in peace and rise in glory, and light perpetual shine upon her.

This Sunday, 18 September, there will be just one Sunday service. This will be a Civic Service of Commemoration for HM Queen Elizabeth II. The service, at St Andrew’s Church, Aldborough, begins at 10am, and will include Holy Communion. All are welcome to attend.

For details of all our other forthcoming church services in the parish, please see the services page.

Gracious God, we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,
for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death
and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
