A Warm Space – Thursdays at St James’ Church

St James’ Church is now registered as a ‘Warm Space’. A generous heating grant from Leeds Diocese has enabled us to heat the Church all Thursday, 9am to 9pm, and make it a comfortable space for our community.

Anyone can access the space, and there are reading materials and colouring facilities as well as toys for children (which we encourage people to tidy up after they have used them please). Disabled toilet/ baby change facilities are available.

Within the ‘warm space’ we have a “Make Time for Music” preschool group which runs on Thursdays during term time. This runs from 9.30am – 10am and tea and coffee is served following this (anyone can come in for a drink, not just parents from the group).

On the first Thursday of the month, we also have a “Make Time for Mindfulness Group” 2- 3pm which also has rolling tea and coffee.

Every Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 9pm, there are board games, newspapers/books, and refreshments. (Board game participation not compulsory, it’s perfectly acceptable to come along and drink coffee and read the newspaper!)
