Worship for Sun 7 February

This Sunday (7th February) we had our main service on Zoom at 10am. This included listening to some music, and a congregational hymn to join in with from our own homes as well as the usual prayers, readings and talk.

The order of service is the usual one for the Service of the Word, which is available here: Service of the Word 2021

A recording is now available below (excluding the chat beforehand and afterwards) It is, of course, not quite so smooth as some of the recorded services you have seen – but perhaps it is more like a “real” service for all that? We hope that seeing it, and some of your friends and neighbours engaged in our worship, will encourage more of us to be part of these live zoom services as we go forward.

The Feast of Candlemas

The link below is for a short Candlemas service hosted from the Candlemas window at St James’ Church, with music, prayers and the blessing of candles. You are encouraged to watch this at any point this weekend or on the 2nd February, which is when Candlemas officially falls.

Our main service for this weekend will be by Zoom at 6pm on Sunday which will be followed by coffee and chat for those who wish to stay. Please bring any candles you wish to be blessed to this service. Please contact Rev Karen if you would like the login details.

Stars of Hope & Rhythm of Life

Our live All Age worship for Epiphany was at 10am at St Andrews today, but those of you who could not attend might still find our activity helpful as we begin a new year, so we have made a short video at home to allow you to reflect at your own time on the idea of finding balance as God calls us on into the New Year.

Service for Epiphany – 3 Jan 2021

The home-spun videos (okay, church-spun videos for people saying their prayers at home) continues, with our Epiphany Service, containing a choir, a viola solo, an organ voluntary, a person reading the Lesson for the first time, yours truly standing on a chair, and a relentless number of errors – but it is shown below for you to watch – finally, after hours of uploading!

There are four hymns too, and a hymn sheet, which is available here:  Epiphany Service 2020 – hymns

The Longest Night Service

The Longest Night Service is for people who would love to hear again the readings and the music surrounding the Christmas story, but who find it really difficult to come into church – not just because of the Covid restrictions, but for any reason.  It is a quiet reflective service filmed at St James’s Church, Boroughbridge, with readings and hymns you can either listen to or join in.
